Ashanti Douglas is also referred to as Ashanti and is born in Glen Cove New York United States on 13th October 1980. She's an actress and singer of her native United States. Her talent was first noticed in her teens. The singer signed with Murder Inc. Records, in 2002. That that same year, she was in Fat Joe's What's Luv? Both Fat Joe's What's Luv? Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, better called Ashanti was born on the 13th of October, 1980 in Glen Cove New York. Tina Douglas is the mother of Ashanti, and Ken Kaide Douglas serves as the the father. She is more youthful than Kenashia T. Douglas. Douglas named her Ashanti to honor Ghana's Ashanti Empire which was a place where women were in charge and held power and influence. Douglas wanted Ashanti to adopt this same model. James who was Ashanti's father was a civil rights activist alongside Martin Luther King Jr. during the 1960s. Ashanti was discovered by her mother when she heard Ashanti singing Mary J. Blige s song Reminisce. Ashanti made an appearance in Spike Lee's Malcolm X (1992) as well as Ted Demme's Who's the Man? as an unidentified young actor. A few of her cameos appeared in music video clip including K.R.S. Act One's MC's"Like They're Not Known" as well as 8 Off's Ghetto Woman. After years of being wooed by various record companies, including Bad Boy, Jive and other companies, Ashanti struggled to be an artist. In the midst of this, she played in New York. At the Murder Inc. Studio she was waiting to make a breakthrough. Ashanti began as a back-up singer on the track of Big Pun"How We Roll. Ashanti also sang on Fat Joe's song"What's Luv?" and Ja Rule's Always on Time. In her debut song Foolish and Foolish, the DeBarge song Stay with Me that was recorded in 1983 is sung. Ashanti's self-titled first album was made available in 2002 via Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. record label. The Declaration The fourth studio album, was released on the 3rd of June, 2008. Hey Baby, After the Club (released via radio and digital format) came out October 16 in 2008. The singer was as a character in the Christmas in the City film as Latasha in Army Wives. Aitch used in her Rock wit U sample in Baby on the 10th day of March 2022.
