Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely credited with starting the modern science-based study of children's eyewitness memories and the role of child victims as witnesses in legal settings. Professor Goodman is a prolific author she has won many prizes and grants. She has consulted with numerous government agencies and governments across the world on policies and studies on child victims within the legal system. She has been a consultant with the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center that was formerly known as it was the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has been a member of a variety of professional organizations, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She served as the head of three divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy Practice Division and the Society for Child Policy American Psychology Law Society, and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
